Marilyn Jean Dempsey (nee Dappert), 94, of Jupiter, went to the Lord on Sunday, February 25, 2024. Jean was born in Evanston, IL and lived in such far-flung places as Germany, California, and Georgia with her Master Sergeant husband before settling in Florida in 1964.
She worked at Montgomery Ward in Chicago, and the Palm Beach County School Board in Jupiter. Over the years, she was a member of Holy Spirit Lutheran Church, Christ the King Lutheran Church, Judea Shrine No. 14, Star of Jupiter OES, and Jupiter Lighthouse Sam’s chapter 140 camping club. She was also an avid animal lover.
She has been many things to many people: daughter (to the late Walter G. and Gladys E. Dappert), sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, neighbor, friend.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Russell (2006) and daughter Jeanne Ricketson (1992), and is survived and sorely missed by her daughters Pam and Linda, her sister Betty, and their respective families.
May the Lord grant us comfort as she now rests in peace. May her memory remain her last enduring act as the Lord’s servant to strengthen the love and faith of all those who held her dear.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 1, 2024 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Aycock-Riverside Funeral and Cremation Center, 1112 Military Trail, Jupiter, FL 33458.
