Margaret was born in Waterbury, Connecticut on March 25, 1938, the daughter of William and Mary Tracy. She is a graduate of St. Mary’s Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1958, and worked as a nurse. Margaret married Richard G. Murphy on March 31, 1958, in Waterbury, Connecticut at Blessed Sacrament Church.
Margaret was the light of her family’s life. She was their beloved Mimi. Mimi was a generous friend to, loyal fighter for, and fierce protector of all those she loved, and she unconditionally loved many. Her strong and courageous faith in God supported her, especially her intense devotion to the Virgin Mary. She touched the life of each person she met with her joy, kindness, compassion, and proud Irish sense of humor. Everyone that Margaret touched considered themselves her best friend, and they were. All those who loved Mimi and knew her will miss her dearly, and her spirit will continue to live on.
Margaret is survived by her husband, Richard; by her five children and their spouses, Garrie and Patricia Murphy, Timothy and Mylene Murphy, Elizabeth and James Webb, Christopher Murphy, and Sean Murphy and Jeffrey Bower; by her six grandchildren, Lauren and Amanda Leigh Webb, Liam, Conor, and Molly Murphy, and Lukas Murphy; by her sister Marion Deschaine and her spouse Elmer; and her brother William Tracy. Margaret is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, as well as her treasured dog, Keagan.
There will be a mass to celebrate Margaret’s life at St. Patrick Church, 13591 Prosperity Farms Road, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, on Wednesday, January 20 at 2:00 p.m. Father Aidan Lacy will officiate over the mass.
