On June 16th, 1924, he was born in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Pauline Finley Lamb and Harrison Blaine Lamb. Although Texas- born, he grew up in a small oil camp in Healdton, Oklahoma. All of his early education was completed there with the exception of his senior year. This was attended at Ardmore High School in Ardmore, Oklahoma. He often spoke very fondly of this year and the friendships he made.
After graduation he began college at Texas A & M. This was interrupted by a call to military duty for World War II. During this time, his 69th Infantry Division took their place on the front line in the "Battle of the Bulge". Being such a young man in combat cemented his values and patriotism and contributed to his success in his career and personal life.
Surviving the war, he attended the University of Oklahoma where he graduated with double bachelors degrees in civil and chemical engineering. It was here that he met his wife of 61 years when she invited him to a "Sadie Hawkin's" dance and gave him a carrot corsage.
Military duty called again for a second time during the Korean War. He served in the 973rd Engineer Construction Battalion at Camp Carson,Colorado. Then after a long rewarding career with Shell Pipeline Company, he retired in Florida.
He never missed an opportunity to claim pride in his "three sweet girls" who survive him.
Wife - Thelma Wibker Lamb
Daughter - Lillian Lamb Porter
Granddaughter - Brittany Alyse Porter
He was a very private and humble man. At his request, no service is planned.
