Linda graduated from Haverhill High School, class of 1967. During her high school days, she was named “Miss Sports” in her Senior year, lettered in basketball and was a member of the National Honor Society.
She married Jacques Cormier in 1973 and then Ronald Edwin Smith in 1978.
Linda began her career with National Airlines working her way up to gate agent and station manager and then began the first women to park airplanes. She parked airlines at LaGuardia airport and was featured in multiple newspapers, including Cosmo magazine and the Prince Matchabelli print campaign in 1975. While working with National Airlines, she discovered her love of travel and traveled throughout the world. Linda began working with PanAm and moved from New York to San Francisco. She worked at PanAm for 22 years before the company dissolved and she began working as a travel agent at Castro Travel. From there she worked at executive assistant at various technology companies and for over ten years as Membership Director at the YMCA.
Linda loved animals, she had dogs and cats throughout her life, she constantly championed for the lives of animals and those less fortunate. She continued her love of travel and shared that love with her daughter. She was an avid reader, loved spending time at the beach and had the most beautiful handwriting. She was always willing to help out friends and family, opening her home and heart to many.
She is survived by a daughter, Darcy Currey and her husband Jonathan; a granddaughter, Lila Currey; a grandson, James Currey; a sister, Debbie Barr and her ex-husband, Ronald Smith.
