Kathleen graduated from Wolfson High School in Jacksonville, FL and went on to attend Jacksonville University, earning her bachelor’s degree in Education. She married Derrick Shea on December 15, 1990 and together they shared 29 years of marriage. Kathleen was employed as a teacher. She enjoyed ballet and modern dance, cooking, gardening, reading classic literature, music, traveling to the Florida Keys with family, and taking care of her two beloved dogs, Daisy and Gunner. She earned her Master Gardner Certification and was a volunteer at El Sol Garden in Jupiter, FL in which she was nominated Volunteer of the Year. While she attended JU she was also nominated Miss Jacksonville University.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Derrick; her daughter, Anna and her husband Andrew and daughter, Emma; her mother, Kathleen Helena Guidera; three sisters, Carolyn Duenas, Laura Woodward and her husband Scott, Jenny Wingate and her husband West; her brother, John Guidera and his wife Kim; father-in-law, Francis Jerome Shea; two sisters-in-law, Kim Harris and her husband Brad and Kristin Shea; twelve nieces and nephews, Jonathon and his wife Michelle, Ashley and her husband Mike, Noah, Skyler, Garrett, Will, Sarah, Jenna, Wilson, Case, Carly and Mia; two great nieces, Lily and Aurora; as well as many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins, especially her Aunt Trudy and Uncle Cliff, Uncle Pat and Aunt Cathy, and cousins Jeff and Karen.
Kathleen is predeceased by her father, William Parker Guidera and mother-in-law, Emma Dora Shea.
