Jerome Joel Rupar

Jerry, graduated in 1960 from Central High School in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. After serving in the United States Air Force, he received a degree in Journalism from the University of Wisconsin. He was employed by the Milwaukee Journal and Cox Newspapers as the Manager of Circulation. Jerry retired from Scripps Howard Newspapers where he served as the General Manager of the Jupiter Courier. Jerry was the past president of both the Jupiter Tequesta Rotary and Jupiter Tequesta Chamber of Commerce and at the time of his death, he was a member of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Tequesta, Florida.

Jerry married Karen Lynn Barnes in 1987. He had three daughters, Michelle Marie (Randy Stringer), Angela Daun (Joel Waymire) and Jessica Nicole (Mark Makens); three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

After retirement, he and his wife, Karen, traveled frequently to many countries in Europe, Canada, Cuba, Mexico and across the United States. Jerry loved to play golf and cheering on his beloved Green Bay Packers to victory.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, April 7, 2024 at 3:30pm at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, 400 Seabrook Road, Tequesta, FL 33469. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Jupiter Tequesta Rotary Club Scholarship Fund, or to Good Shepherd Episcopal Church.
