Herbert Palmer Ellis, 85 of West Palm Beach passed away on Monday, May 28, 2018 at the Charles W. Gerstenberg Hospice Center. He was born in Hudson, NH on October 18, 1932; the son of the late John and Rena (Henri) Ellis.
Herbert was educated in the Hudson School System and attended Alvirne High School. He served his country with the U. S. Army as a Medic in the Infantry and the Army Engineering Corp. He was a member of the N.R.A. He was the owner/operator of Paint-Rite, Inc. for over 31 years until his retirement. Herbert married Marta R. Ellis on November 11, 2002 and together they have celebrated 16 years of marriage.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marta Ellis; eight children, Donna Dolling, Gary Ellis, Herbie Ellis, Curtis Ellis, Anthony Ellis, Steven Ellis, Lisa Seitz and Jason Ellis; eleven grandchildren, Julie Rich, Michael Ellis, Bella Ellis, Steven Ellis, Jr., Katie, Chiara Pate, Zachary Pate, Alexa Pate, Megan Ellis, Kevin Ellis and Grayson Ellis; and three siblings, Paul Ellis, Raymond Ellis and Jeanne Dupuis, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2018 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Aycock-Riverside Funeral and Cremation Center, 1112 Military Trail, Jupiter, FL. A Graveside Service will be held at 12:30 pm at Riverside Memorial Park, 19351 SE County Line Rd, Tequesta, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Herbert’s name to Trustbridge Hospice Foundation/Charles W. Gerstenberg Hospice Center, 5300 East Ave, West Palm Beach, FL 33407.
