Harry Louis Hansen was a man with a big heart who loved his family. We remember him best for the way he loved his children and grandchildren and how when a father figure was needed he was the man who stepped up. He lived an active life of accomplishment with a degree in Electrical Engineering, served his country in the Air Force, he painted and taught Art, was a dance instructor at Arthur Murray, and worked for FPL for 31 years and later started his own business involving his expertise with power lines. He loved the excitement of motorcycles and helicopters.
He was born in Iowa on August 16, 1932; the son of Dorothy and George Hansen. He served in the Air Force and later earned his Electrical Engineering Degree from the University of Miami. He always led an active life including being a volunteer soccer and basketball coach. Harry first fell in love with dancing when he became a dance instructor at twenty two. Dancing later led him to meet Edel who was the love of his life. Their marriage lasted 39 years. They danced throughout their marriage. Alzheimer effected Harry but he never lost his love for dance or Edel. His warmth, friendliness, kindness will be missed.
He is survived by his loving wife, Edeltraud Hansen; two daughters, Dana Pellman and Dorothy Kendall; adopted son, Steven Hansen; adopted daughters, Nany Hansen and Janice Johnson; eight grandchildren, Grace Pellman, Kyle Pellman, Lisa Knowles, Alina Kendall, Kimberly Kendall, Jennifer, Michelle and Bobby; four great grandchildren, Alexis Knowles, Annabell Knowles, Deliliah Mac Donald and David Wesley; two brothers, John Hansen and Mike Hansen and a two sisters, Shirley and Patricia.
