Edward Gene Thompson

Edward, “Eddie”, Gene Thompson, age 61, of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida passed away on Monday, September 20, 2021 after a long and brave fight with cancer. Eddie was born January 27, 1960 to David and Gloria Thompson. He was the second oldest of five siblings and a Class of 1978 graduate of John Marshall High School in San Antonio, Texas. After graduation, Eddie went to work alongside his father making beautiful woodwork.

Eddie was well known as a gentle giant with a rough exterior but a heart of gold. Though he was a surprisingly sensitive man, Eddie was devotedly and heartwarmingly protective of his friends and family. In addition to his passion for woodworking, Eddie also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and collecting guns.

Eddie is survived by his mother, Gloria Thompson, his son, Richard Schad, siblings Bella Galloway (David), Keith Thompson, Gisele Brauchle (Wade), Kirsten Dixon (Michael), and several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. He was preceded in his passing by his father, David Thompson, and his beloved, furry, and loyal companion, Jessie.

A private celebration of life will be held for Eddie with family. Eddie is very cherished and loved, and he will be missed by all who knew him; his life and beautiful heart will live on in the memories of his family and his friends.
