Diane Edith Bognar, aged 68, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2024 surrounded by her beloved family. She was born on October 13, 1955, in Malden, Massachusetts, to the late Ernest and Irene DeSimone. She was a 1973 graduate of Malden High School. She married George Bognar on August 17, 1991 and would have celebrated their 33rd anniversary. Diane was the proud mother of her son Ronald Keohan III and daughter-in-law Ana Keohan, as well as her and George’s daughter Christine Boland and son-in-law Kenneth Boland. She also had five beautiful grandchildren who she loved dearly; Johnny, Sophia, Jaxon, Rosie and Makenna. Diane is survived by her two sisters Deborah Gignac, Joan Bulman and brother-in-law Richard Bulman. She is also preceded in death by her two brothers Gerald DeSimone and Michael DeSimone.
Diane’s friendships encompassed all aspects of life, and each was special to her. From phone call chats to joint family outings, to sharing Holiday meals, Diane was up for it all. She was the friend who would give the shirt off her back, a shoulder to cry on and someone you could turn to for everything and anything. For a short time, Diane was involved with The Palm Beach County Food Project, a non-profit organization incorporated in May 2015. Her two granddaughters Sophia and Rosie helped her gather the food in the neighborhood, as well as make Birthday bags for those in need. Diane was very passionate about this organization.
Her interests included reading and quilting. Diane was an avid reader and her favorite authors were Nicholas Sparks and Sue Grafton. She also had a great passion for quilting which started in 2002. Diane was proud of her quilts and other projects and she enjoyed sewing with all of her friends.
If you would like to make a donation, Diane’s family asks that you donate to either The Palm Beach County Food Project, or The Salvation Army, another organization near and dear to Diane. A celebration of life will be held on May 4, 2024 to honor the wonderful woman Diane was. Her family asks that you wear yellow in honor of her favorite color.
