Charles Edward Ficker Jr.

Charles Edward Ficker Jr. (“Chuck”) passed away peacefully on Thursday, Sept. 1, 2022. Born in West Palm Beach, Florida, on August 15, 1968, Chuck was 54 at the time of his passing. He graduated in 1986 from Jupiter High School, where he fell in love with his forever girlfriend, Kimberly Cato. They were together for 38 years, having dated for six years before marrying on Sept. 22, 1990. A hard worker, Chuck worked most recently as the Project Manager for Synovus Bank, where he was responsible for upkeep of the facilities of many branches of the bank.

Chuck loved music and was an excellent drummer and vocalist. In addition to playing in the drum line at Jupiter High, he charted shows for many high school drum lines and taught future musicians how to play the drums. He also played drums in churches where he was a member. For many years, he was the drummer for the Andrew Morris Band, entertaining local fans with his drums and his vocals.

A huge sports enthusiast, Chuck cheered for the Florida State Seminoles, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the Atlanta Braves. He loved attending games for each of these teams, accompanied by his wife or his son or his lifelong buddies.

Chuck enamored anyone who met him. He had a larger-than-life personality, a quick wit, and a wonderful sense of humor. To his family and his many friends, he was loyal and protective. He loved his family fiercely, and he didn’t meet a stranger.

Chuck is survived by his wife, Kimberly Cato Ficker; his daughter Elizabeth Ficker Edwards (Kenny); his son, Benjamin Ficker; and his precious granddaughter, Olivia Edwards (to whom he was Pop). He also is survived by his parents, Charles Edward Ficker Sr. and Patricia Bowden Ficker; his sisters Wendy Ficker Anderson (Dana), Sandra Ficker Vandercook (Philip), and Sherry Ficker Hayes (Rick); and numerous nieces and nephews.
