Ann, born in Huntington, New York in 1931, was a talented seamstress, a master cook, an avid reader, champion bowler, and a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt. She will be remembered for her outgoing nature, her sense of humor, big character and even bigger heart, and her dedication to her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughters, Sandy and Shelley; her two son-in-laws, Tony and Chris; her six grandchildren and their spouses: Gene (Ashley), Kim (Tony), Annie, Tony (Laura), Kayley and Jackson; and eight great-grandchildren: Sam, Journey, Maya, Merritt, Grace, Leo, David and Grayson. She is also survived by her younger brothers, Richie and Peter, and her sister, Marie, and many much loved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Eugene E. Colwell Jr. and her beloved husband of 69 years, Eugene E. Colwell Sr., who passed away in September 2023.
Anna Mattiucci attended Huntington High School and was one of seven children. As the second oldest, she helped her sister Lucy take care of her young siblings. In September 1954 she married Gene Colwell and they began their lives together in Huntington, where they lived until 2006. Ann and Gene became “snowbirds” in 1998, spending the winters in Jupiter before moving there full-time in 2006
