Alma Lorraine Taylor, "Lorraine" or "Rain", 86, of Jupiter, FL, died peacefully on March 18, 2017. Born in Gloucester, MA on March 28, 1930, she was the daughter of the late William Francis Landsburg, Sr. and Lempi Lyyli “Lillian” Landsburg. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, William F. Landsburg, Jr. of Boston, MA.
Devoted parents, she was formerly married to Richard B. Taylor of Falls Church, VA with whom she had three daughters, Robin A. Taylor-Greif (Robert) of Jupiter, FL, Lisa S. Taylor and Ellen W. Taylor of Midland, PA, a grandson, Michael B. Taylor (Carrie), and great-grandchildren Talbot, Max, and Harrison. She is also survived by many close relatives and dear friends throughout the U.S.
Growing up in Framingham, MA Lorraine in her teenage years was a candy striper and aspired to attend Ford Modeling School. She graduated from Framingham High School in 1948. Aside from being a wonderful mother and home maker, Lorraine was a life-long floral designer with a natural flair for beautiful arrangements, especially her wedding designs. She loved collecting antiques but her favorite past times were going to the Jupiter, FL Inlet often and spending time with her neighbors and friends who she was quite fond of. Their visits were the highlight of her day, especially when they brought their pets. Her beloved pets Fang, Kiki, and Blanca crossed over the Rainbow Bridge in recent years. Lorraine had a sharp wit and a great sense of humor. She enjoyed life and brought a smile to many.
The family would like to thank the physicians, nurses, and staff at the Jupiter Medical Center and the Pavilion, and the home health aid nurses for caring for our mother in her times of need. She was very grateful for their professional and first class service.A memorial to celebrate Lorraine's life will be held on Saturday, May 6th from 11:00 – 1:30 pm at the Fisherman’s Landing community clubhouse, 1030 Stillwater Dr., Jupiter, FL.
