Albert attended Bayside High School and later enlisted in the National Guard. He continued his education at Pacific Western University receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. He met the love of his life Eileen and they were married on September 14, 1957. They celebrated 37 incredible years together.
He became a Nuclear Engineer and held a professional license in California for 34 years. He also spent 23 years with the Martin County Metropolitan Planning Organization. In his spare time he enjoyed golfing, gardening, designing, opera, Broadway plays and history. He was a lifelong learner and was always interested in expanding his knowledge. Family was everything to him and he especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Albert is survived by his daughter Diane DeLano, sons Chris and Joseph Zilg, brother and Jerry Colby, and granddaughters Katherine Zilg, Michelle DeLano and Danielle DeLano. He is predeceased by his loving wife Eileen Fleming Zilg.
A visitation for Albert will be held Tuesday, April 16, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Aycock-Riverside Funeral and Cremation Center, 1112 Military Trail, Jupiter, FL 33458. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Aycock-Riverside Funeral and Cremation Center, 1112 Military Trail, Jupiter, FL 33458. Interment will follow at 11:30 AM at Riverside Memorial Park, 19351 SE County Line Road, Tequesta, FL 33469.
