Yvette Renee' Clark

Ms. Yvette Renee' Clark was born June 17, 1952 in St. Louis MO. to the union of Mr. Oliver L. Clark Sr. (who preceded her in death) and Mrs. Doris A. Bradbury Clark. She was the third of eight children. She was raised in East St. Louis, IL and known by the nickname of Vet. Brought up in the church, Yvette was baptized at a young age under the leadership of the late Reverend R.L. White of the Mount Sinai Bapt. Church in E. St. Louis, IL. Yvette was schooled in district 189 where she graduated from Lincoln Sr. High School in 1970. She was a majorette and also performed in the choir and band. She went off to college in Champaign, IL. Returning from college, she then married Mr. Tommie J. Heavens on March 27, 1971. To this union, three children were born; Damon A. Heavens, Gerald C. Heavens and Tanya M. Heavens.

After moving to Georgia, Yvette, after several other employers, was hired by the State of Georgia as a Tax Examiner in the Revenue Dept. There she worked her way up to a level 3 supervisor, where she remained until her retirement in 2005.

Yvette made many friends in Georgia. Her three closest long time friends are Ms. Doreen Stevens, Ms. Ardelia (Dee) Greene and Mrs.Shelley Moore. These three were her constant companions even throughout her illness.

She was a member of the Touch of Essence Social Club, where she served as the club Secretary.

Yvette loved life and being with family and friends. One of her favorite things was going home to Mothers' and sitting back listening to the golden oldies and reminiscing with her sister Pat and talking about the " Good Ole Days".

Yvette slipped peacefully out of this earthly vessel on Thursday, October 24, 2013. She leaves behind her three children; Damon Armond Heavens, Gerald (Nicole) Heavens, and Tanya (Felton) Thornton. A loving mother, Mrs. Doris A. Clark. Five grandchildren; Ms. Tyanna Thornton, Javon Thornton, Xavier Heavens, Logan Heavens and Jameria Haliburton. Her brothers and sisters; Ms. Marilyn Washington (Pat), Mr. Oliver L. Clark Jr. (Butch), Mr. David (Olivia) Clark (Michael),

Mrs. Doris (Gregory) Montgomery (Dottie), Mr. Jon (Tanya) Clark (Tony) and Mr. Ivan (Gina) Clark (Rocky). She had one sister, Ms. Wanda Clark (Squeaky) to precede her in death. A wonderful sister-in-law, Mrs. Quanita Thomas. A daughter like friend Ms. Tracy Neal. A special niece and nephew; Mrs. Angela Wortham (Angie) Mr. Terrance Heavens, a very special nephew/son Mr. Andre' Coulter (Spike) and a very large host of other relatives and friends that loved her dearly.
