Walter Cecil Helms

Walter Cecil Helms age 86 of Riverdale, Ga. passed away Monday May 10, 2010. Born in Atlanta, Ga. in 1924 to Henry and Annie Helms. Mr. Helms was retired from the Southern Railroad with 38 years of service. He was a veteran of ww II proudly serving his country in the 34th fighter squadron of the Army-Airforce. Mr. Helms is survived by his wife of 40 years, Frances Louise Helms. Son and Daughter-in-law, Robert and Susan Helms of Woodstock, Ga. Daughter and Son-in-law, Patricia and Dennis Lancaster of McDoungh, Ga. 2 Grandchildren, Kim Estes and Kellie Cox. 4 Great Grantchildren, Tucker and Annalise Estes and Mason and Madison Cox. 1 Sister and Brother-in-law, Jeanette and Bill Kelley. Mr. Helms is preceded in death by his parents and a Brother Joseph Helms. Funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday May 12th at 1:00 pm in the chapel of Horis A. Ward-Tara Chapel with Rev. Beth Sanders officiating with interment to follow in Westview Cemetery with Military Honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday May 11th from 5-8 pm. Horis A.
