Scharleen Parker Edmondson passed away on April, 12, 2024. She was born on October 25, 1945 as a surprise alongside her twin sister Kathleen. She was the 6th child of 7 born to Millie and Howard Parker. Scharleen grew up in Stone Mountain, Georgia and married Charles “Donald” Edmondson on June 15, 1962, at the young age of 16. They went onto have 3 children, Charles “Anthony,” Tessie “Juanita,” and Samual “Curtis” Edmondson and raised them at their home in Riverdale, Georgia.
Scharleen loved to do puzzles, play games, and spend time with her grandchildren, Ashley, Corey (Amber), and Jeremy (Colleen) Christian. She was “mama” to everybody and would have each of her grandchildren spend a week in the summer with her to get one on one time together. She loved her family more than anything and was there for them whenever she could be. Scharleen was lucky enough to be apart of all 6 of her great grandchildren’s lives (Austin (17), Caleb (17), Alexa (13), Emma (13), Scharlotte (1), and Parker (1).
Her and “PawPaw” never said “bye” to each other in over 62 years, because “bye” felt too final. Their love for one another was like no other. He called her “Rose” and he stood by her side until the very end. When asked, Donald said, “she was a loving wife, and good to her children” and we think that sums her up pretty well. Scharleen was and always will be a big part of all her family’s lives.
Her family will be celebrating her life all together on Saturday April 13th in the privacy of their home. Flowers and condolences can be sent to the family’s home, but they will not be accepting visitors at this time.
