Johnnie Lee Grant

Johnnie was one of five children born to Pearl Lee Grant, and Leroy Grant. His parents, his brother Arthur Grant and three of his children Johnny Deltony (‘Tony’), Troy and Regina Grant all preceded him in death.

Johnnie was very outgoing, talented and athletic while attending Beach High School. He was a star football player and loved every moment of the game. Johnnie had a thirst for knowledge and yearned to learn as much as he could. He attended a number of trade schools and institutions. In 1982, Johnnie and Pamela Deloris Huff were united in Holy Matrimony, she remained by his side until God called him home. From this union they raised three sons. Stacy Brion Wade, Dyamond Johntavious Grant, and LaTroy Jarvis Grant.

Johnnie was a hard worker with a killer smile! There weren’t many things that he could not do. He was truly a jack of all trades. From repairing cars, to selling real estate, grooming and raising horses, designing and sewing clothes, he did it all! However, his career claim to fame and one that he boasted about very often was being a truck driver. He was very proud of that accomplishment.

Johnnie was also a skilled and talented property General Manager (GM). In 2009, he retired as the GM for HMI Property. He served in that capacity for more than 20 years. Before his illness, Johnnie had recently taken a position yet again in property management with the Laramar Group. To have known Johnnie was to love him, and his co-workers can attest to that statement.
