Jewell Henrietta Marshall Betsill

Jewell Henrietta Marshall Betsill age 95 of Jonesboro, Georgia passed away Saturday, June 12, 2010. Mrs. Betsill was a member of Noah's Ark Church and a retired Civil Service employee with the U.S Army having served at Fort McPherson and Fort Gillem. After her retirement she worked at the Baptist Inn Retirement Home and was a Pink Lady at Southern Regional Medical Center as well as a member of the Shiners Club of Jonesboro. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in Noah's Ark Church where she will lie-in-state from 10:00 am until service time. Officiating will be Rev. John Elliott and Rev. Tim Tutton. Interment will follow in the New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery. She is survived by her son, Jack Hankins of Jonesboro, GA; two daughters, Joyce and Jimmy Street of Morrow, GA and Margaret and Rev. Tim Tutton of Erie, CO; ten grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; two brothers, George Marshall of Escondido, CA and Owen Marshall of Camden, OH; one sister, Sally and Troy Kelley of Nabb, IN; nieces, nephews and cousins also surviving. Mrs. Betsill is preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Betsill; two sons, Jerry and Jimmy Hankins; two grandsons, Glendel and Mike Hankins; and parents, Gus and Henrietta Ramsey Marshall. The family will receive friends Tuesday and Wednesday from 2-9 pm at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted, however, donations may be made to the Baptist Youth Mission, P.O.
