Predeceased by Cecil, Gertrude and brother Bill, he’s survived by 2 sisters, 2 brothers, 3 sons, 4 daughters, 19 grand children and 8 great grandchildren.
He was a devoted husband to Lu Ann Wilson and went above and beyond the call of duty as a loving husband and father to their children. He retired with honors after 21 years of service in the US Army. He served two consecutive tours in the Vietnam war. Even after his service in the military, he continued to admirably serve our government. He loved football, the Georgia Bulldogs and played well into his 40’s. He was a man with a green thumb who loved working in the yard as evident in their rich gardens. He was the best big brother a girl or boy could ever have. He always looked after us and when we called on him, he would always be there for us. Although he had a sharp tongue at times, he had the biggest heart and would do anything for those he loved. We love and miss him more than words can describe.
Family and friends will be received for a visitation on Friday, August 7, 2020 from 5 PM to 9 PM at Tara Garden Chapel located at 681 North Avenue in Jonesboro, GA. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at 8:30 AM at Our Lady of Vietnam located at 91 Valley Hill Rd in Riverdale, GA
