James Washington III beloved husband, father, brother,-in-law, uncle, nephew, and cousin passed away unexpectedly on December 8th, 2010 at the age of 63. Born in Smarr, Georgia to James Washington Jr. and Annette Searcy-Washington, he grew up in Macon, Georgia where he attended and graduated from Peter G. Appling High in 1964. Shortly thereafter, James enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served 26 years before retiring in 1991. During his adventures abroad, James married Dagmar Ebert and together they were blessed with three children; Christine, James IV, and Claude Washington.
Throughout the course of his life, James demonstrated uncompromising love for his family. He was a mentor and friend to many and took great pride in his word, appearance and everything he did. He filled his days with his favorite hobbies: fishing, reading, movies, music, grilling, photography, and, of course, travel. He loved giving flowers as well as receiving them and surrounded himself with plants. To put it plainly, James loved life and was determined to live each day to its fullest.
It goes without saying that James will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him. We have memories, good memories that we can hold onto. His wife, Dagmar, expresses, "It is that which keeps me going. He was my love and my life. As each day that passes, I am comforted by the thought that I will be with him again."
Services to honor the life of James Washington III will be held Saturday January 22, 2011 from Tara Garden Chapel 681 North Avenue Jonesboro, GA. Visitation from 1:00 - 3:00 pm - Memorial Service will begin at 3:00pm.
