She spent most of her life in Providence, Rhode Island. Her formal education was in the Rhode Island school system. In September 1943 she married James Robert Robertson. They were blessed with six children.
Sister Emma’s love of children was her passion, raising her six children in the love and admiration of the lord. She became a self-employed day care giver in the early 1970’s and continued keeping great-grandchildren and others after retiring in the late 90’s.
In her early years sister Robertson was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. In her later years she became a member of C.O.G.I.C Church of Providence, Rhode Island Elder Nathaniel Witcher presiding. After moving to Georgia sister Robertson joined Living Waters Assembly of God in Riverdale, Pastor Dwayne Barnes. While living in Hampton with her daughter Loretta Thomas, she joined Higher Living Christian Church, Pastor Andre Landers.
Sister Emma L. Robertson, age 91, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Piedmont Fayette Hospital in Fayetteville, Georgia.
Sister Emma leaves to cherish her memory three daughters; Pearl E. Robertson, Loretta A. Thomas and Deborah R. Robertson of Georgia and three sons; William A. Robertson (Maria) of Florida, James R. Robertson Jr of California and Daniel Robertson (Jane) of North Carolina, also two sisters; Marinda Bickford of Virginia and Muriel Jacks of California.
Sister Emma was loved by all who knew her. She was a woman of God with a sweet spirit and a warm smile for all.
