Coy Darrell Dunn, age 72, of Riverdale GA, passed away on Monday, June 17, 2024 at Brightmoor Hospice in Griffin, GA, due to complications initiated by a heart attack.
Coy was born on December 11, 1951 in Sevierville, TN to parents Ruby Shultz and Hazel Dunn. He grew up alongside his two older siblings and his twin brother, but considered himself the baby of the family, as his twin was born first. Coy served in the Air Force for 10 years, being stationed in Alaska, Germany, and North Carolina, before settling in Georgia. He was an entrepreneur who created a career in photography as well as running a successful courier business. He was known and loved by many for his kind heart and silly sense of humor.
Coy was preceded in death by his sister, Clara, his brother, Clell, and parents Ruby and Hazel.
Coy is survived by his wife of 43 years, Aurora Dunn, and twin brother Carl Dean Dunn
Children: Brandon, Jonathan, Cory, Tyler, David, Butch
Grandchildren: Fritz, Ayla, Nicola, Joziah, Logan, Marissa, Bella, Codie, Christopher, Riley, Rachel, Austin
Great grandchildren: Reagan, Olivia, Willa, Ryland
Thanks to all the family, friends, and medical staff that supported Coy in his last few weeks. To leave you with one of Coy’s favorite quotes, “Don’t sweat the small stuff; everything is small stuff.” However, what mattered the most to Coy were his family, friends, and work.
A visitation for Coy will be held Saturday, June 29, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM. at Horis A. Ward, INC. Tara Garden Chapel, 681 North Ave, Jonesboro, GA 30236
