Constance Y. Thomas Gibson

Constance Y. Gibson was born July 12, 1945 in Chattanooga Tennessee to Margaret and Steve Thomas. She was educated in Chattanooga Tennessee where she was a member of Second Missionary Baptist Church.

Connie moved to New York City, worked in her father’s business, and became an active member of Mt Horeb Baptist Church. In 1977 Connie married her husband Dr. Randy Gibson. She moved with her husband to Atlanta Georgia in 1982 and became an active member of New Macedonia Baptist Church. In 1992 Connie united with the word of Life Baptist Church to assist her husband in his pastoral calling.

Connie was president of G&W Laboratories and assisted her husband for many years in the health and beauty industry. Connie’s love was sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ, encouraging the brokenhearted, and caring for the needs of others. She was a loving First Lady, wife, mother, and friend.

Connie is survived by her mother Margaret Lane, husband Dr, Randy Gibson, Brother James Strickland, daughter Kathy Shields, son Kevin Hughes, eight grandchildren, one great grandson, several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Connie went home to be with the Lord on January 4, 2011. Tara Garden Chapel Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. Visitation will be held on Monday January 10, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. Home going services will be held at Second Baptist Church Forest Park Georgia on Tuesday

January 11, 2011 at 11AM.
