It is with profound sadness that we announce Charles Edward Bankston, age 73, fondly known as "Cowboy" from Atlanta, passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 18th. He is survived by two children, four grandchildren, three sisters, one brother, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, loving family and friends.
Charles enjoyed playing baseball, basketball, bowling, fishing and loved football. Retiring after 40 years of service with the United Postal Service, he continued his love of gardening and planted many of his own herbs and vegetables. He was also known as a master griller within the family and neighborhood.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Friday, July 1, 2022 from 11 a.m. until 12 noon at Tara Garden Chapel Funeral Home, 681 North Avenue, Jonesboro, GA 30236, where a memorial service to celebrate his life will follow beginning at 12 noon.
A private burial will be held at a later date.
