Alphanso attended Green Island School where he pursued his career in carpentry at the age of 17. He then met the love of his life, Miss Pearline Dawes and they were joined in holy matrimony. Together they have nine children: eight daughters; Eva, Navetta, Monica, Beverly (deceased), Joan, Marcia, Patricia and Angella and one son; Barrington (deceased). They have 23 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
Alphanso started traveling to the United States and Canada and worked to support his family. After returning home he decided to migrate with his wife to the United States in 1989. He was a member of the St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Lewis E. Malone, Pastor in Rockford, Illinois. He was a God fearing man who loved going to church. He loved his family and anyone who came in contact with him. He was a humble and very easy going person.
He became ill in 2021 and his health started to decline in 2022. He passed away on July 30, 2023.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his four brothers and his one sister.
He is survived by his wife; Pearline, one brother, his seven daughters and his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He will be forever loved and forever missed.
A visitation for Alphanso will be held Saturday, August 19, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Tara Garden Chapel, 681 North Ave, Jonesboro, Georgia 30236. A funeral will occur Saturday, August 19, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM, 681 North Ave, Jonesboro, Georgia 30236. An interment will occur Saturday, August 19, 2023 at Sherwood Memorial Park and Mausoleum, 6841 Tara Blvd, Jonesboro, Georgia 30236.
