Lovett E. “Popeye” Thompson, 79, of Alexandria, Ohio, born on October 15, 1936 passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving wife and 5 children on May 17, 2016. Popeye was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Clayton and Prentis Mae and sister, Helen Thompson. Popeye is survived by his loving Wife of 60 years, Mary Jane (Wright) Thompson, Children, Kim (Joe) Polvino, Toni (Roger) Fletcher, Leisa (Vince) DeFilippo, Clint (Mary) Thompson, and Linny (Bruce) Lane, Grandchildren, Ty, Jason, Brad, Casey, Holli, Clay, Leota and Noah, 13 Great-grandchildren, Sisters, Joyce Ellen Fravel and Jayne Evelyn (Ron) Young, and Brothers, George C. (Donna) Thompson and Thomas Alan Thompson. Popeye also leaves behind numerous family members, friends and neighbors. Popeye and Mary Jane were inducted into the Licking County Agriculture Hall of Fame. Popeye is a former member of the Agrology Club, and an honorary member of the Land of Legends Antique Tractor Club. Calling hours will be held at Emswiler Farms, 13167 Morse Road Pataskala, OH 43062, on Friday, May 20, 2016 from 10am-12pm and 4pm-8pm. Services will be held at Emswiler Farms on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at 10 am. Burial following at the Popeye Thompson Family Cemetery.
