Kenneth Edward Smith

Kenneth “Kenny” Edward Smith, 81, of Johnstown, Ohio passed away Thursday, February 15, 2024 at his residence surrounded by family and loved ones. He was born March 25, 1942 in Columbus, Ohio. Kenny was a graduate of Johnstown High School class of 1960. He retired after 30 hardworking years from Rockwell in Heath. Kenny proudly served his community as a volunteer fireman, and Monroe township worker for many years. He truly enjoyed taking his 1949 Ford pickup truck to car shows, going hunting, tending to his lawn, and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. Kenny is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Shirley Smith; daughters, Kendra Lackey and Janet (Joe) Brooks; grandchildren, Shelby (Ariel) Lackey, Justin McKenzie, Jordan Brooks, and Jace Brooks; many nieces and nephews; and a host of other family, friends, and loved ones. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Marian Smith, and Harold and Leona Burgoon; two brothers; and two sisters. Kenny was a great husband, father, and grandfather; and will be deeply missed by all. A memorial visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 8, 2024 at Crouse-Kauber-Fraley Funeral Home 225 N.
