Joseph “Joe” Charles Asta, 77, of Alexandria, passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at his residence. He was born on September 15, 1946 in Kansas City, MO, a son to the late Joseph and Lorraine (Barker) Asta. Joe was a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran, recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He was an avid golfer, fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and dearly loved his family. Joe is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie; children, Brittany (Brent) Kimball and Tyler (Julie) Walter; grandchildren, Piper Kimball, June Kimball, Shaylee Walter, Bentley Walter and Aubrey Walter; sister, Frances Wisong; nieces, Jaime (David) Carlson, Denise (Matthew) Heinen; mother-in-law, Barbara Rogge and many other nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his brother-in-law, James Wisong Jr. Friends may call from 10-11 a.m. on Monday, May 13, 2024 at Alexandria Baptist Church, 94 W. Main St., Alexandria, OH 43001. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. on Monday at the church with Chaplain Greg Rosser and Deacon John Green officiating. Honoring the family’s wishes, cremation will take place after services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alexandria Baptist Church in Joe's memory.
