James Reid Hannahs

James “Jim” Reid Hannahs, 83, of Alexandria, passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2023 at Tuscany Gardens. He was born on November 6, 1939 in Alexandria, OH, a son to the late Reid and Evelyn (Grubb) Hannahs. Jim was a 1957 graduate of Alexandria High School and enlisted in the Ohio National Guard. He worked for Pure Oil Heath Refinery for four years and retired from General Electric after 31 years. Jim was a farmer all his life and enjoyed walking, traveling, gardening, bicycling, and hunting arrow heads. He was a member of the Alexandria Buckeyes, a lifelong member of Concord Liberty Baptist Church, and an avid fan of the Northridge Vikings and the Cleveland Indians. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Dorothy; children, Tim (Lyn), Todd (Tina), and Amy (Jason) Hoying; granddaughters, Katie, Mady, Grace, and Kenzie; sister, Nancy (Bob) Crist and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at CROUSE-KAUBER-FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, 225 N. Main St., Johnstown, OH 43031. Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 6, 2023 at the funeral home with Pastor Larry Griffin officiating. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Alexandria, OH.
