Gloria L. Hatton

Gloria L. Hatton, 76, of Croton, passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2017 in her home surrounded by her loving family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all. Gloria was born on April 8, 1940 in Cornettsville, KY, a daughter to the late Arthur and Ida (Dorton) Cornett. She was a graduate of Mountain Mission School in Grundy, VA and attended Kentucky Christian College for four years. Gloria touched many, many lives through her Ministry at Croton Church of Christ; teaching 1, 2, 3 year olds for 48 years. She is survived by her loving daughter, Rebecca (Michael) McPheters, granddaughters, Tara McPheters (Josh Vincken), Taylor and Tatum McPheters; great-grandchildren, Tristan and Peyton Vincken; sister, Sue (Harry) Slemp of Big Stone Gap, VA and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Gloria is also preceded in death by her husband, James R.; son, James; grandson, Seth McPheters and sister, Sylvia Sherman. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, March 5, 2017 at Croton Church of Christ, 40 S. Main St., Hartford, OH 43013. Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. on Monday at the church with Pastor Dan Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow at Hartford Cemetery.
