Freda Mae Tippie, 97, formerly of Johnstown, passed away at her daughter’s residence on Thursday, April 11, 2024 in Hebron, Ohio surrounded by family and loved ones. She was born June 16, 1926 in Pomeroy, Ohio to the late Bert and Hannah Mossman. Freda was a cashier for Red & White Supermarkets and for JCPenney where she retired in 1997 after many years of hard work. She was also an avid volunteer and supporter of the Cancer Society and Reynoldsburg Cancer Thrift Store. Freda enjoyed bowling, Cincinnati Reds Baseball, hiking, gardening, and spending time with family and loved ones. She is survived by her beloved daughters, Donna Plott and Debra (Robert Elmore) Handegan; grandchildren, Joshua, Allen, and Lacey (Josh Jackson) Handegan, Roger (Kara Mai) Plott Jr., Ian (Joy) Culp, and Mandy (Tony Miller) Priest; eight great-grandchildren; brother, George Mossmann; and a host of other family, friends, and loved ones. In addition to her parents, Freda is preceded in passing by her grandchildren, Christopher Handegan and Jenny Plott, and several brothers and sisters. Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. with a funeral service to begin at 12 p.m. Friday, April 19, 2024 at Crouse-Kauber-Fraley Funeral Home, 225 N. Main St., Johnstown, OH 43031, Rev. Peter Mathewson will be officiating. Burial is to immediately follow at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens.
