I remember all the fun we had together at Alex school. I wish I had taken time to call or stop by. This is something I will always regret, but Eva Mae wouldnot want that. I am so glad I ran out to hug her when her and Chuck came to Krogers for their flu shot. My prayers are with you but we will see her in heaven.

Eva was such a special person who brightened my school day for 25 years!  She will be missed.  My prayers are with you.

 I was schocked and saddened to see that Eva had passed.  We had so many good times when we worked together.  Our birthdays are one day apart and we would celebrate the entire week.  She is "stirring up" something delicious in heaven.  Hugs and prayers to all.

Pam I am so sorry to hear of your mothers passing. Mrs. Nabil (even as an adult I can't call her Eva!)was a fun and wonderful lady, most of all my mothers best friend.

Eva Mae, I knew her as a young child growing up on Majestic Drive East in Columbus.   Eva Mae's family moved in next to mine.  Eva Mae and my mother Mary made fast friends.   Each had three kids about the same age.  They would send their husbands off to work, kids off to school, then had the day together.  They would sun in the yard, sew outfits for kids, and collect their broods in the afternoon.  They collectively bought a pool, located between their yards to exorcise their children's energy.  I still remember them reclining on lounge chairs while we waded.  Excursions to the locale Mall were planned at times around 4 square games in the turn around.  Changing times intervened and Mary moved with her family to Licking County.  Eva Mae followed a few years later settling in Alexandria a few miles away.  They were tight Eva Mae and Mary.  

Time travels on, birthdays and Christmases spent together with various kids and grandkids.  I remember picking up my mother (Mary) one morning and then Eva Mae to take them to the new City Center mall in Columbus.  Everything seemed fine until Eva Mae mentioned that Princes Diana was in a terrible accident.  Mary concurred.  They had both been watching the same news shows all night long about it.  Tied together they were.  We had a grand time especially at the Disney store.  I believe they were both thinking about visits to Orlando with the grand kids.

My Mother took a couple of trips with Eva Mae back to her home town.  They stayed with various family members of Eva Mae's and always met on the front porch in the morning. Coffee cups in hand. They had a great time sitting out on the front porch and talking to passersby.  Mary mentioned this often and it was always clear that she enjoyed this time with Eva Mae.  Over the years they shared their passion for NASCAR racing.  They called each other to discuss races.  I always found their interest in NASCAR odd but it was a touch stone of their enduring friend ship.

Fast forward to a day I was in Grandville, heading home; I got off on 37 and crusaded over to Eva Mae's.  She and Chuck (her husband) were on the front stoop and seemed delighted that I had stopped.  They took me on a tour and showed me all their treasures.  I left feeling glad I stopped.  Too many times since then I drove by the same exit and did not take it.  I guess I always thought she would be there.  In this hustle and bustle of life, I will always castigate myself for not stopping.  But, I know Eva Mae will forgive me.  She was that type.  Very giving, kind and compassionate with a ready smile and warm laugh.  A wonderful unique person and I am better for having known her.

I am so sorry for your family's loss. Losing a mother is so painful. Your memories will be more cherished now and will help you through.  Eva was a very special lady, so kind and caring. I have very good memories of her too.

So sorry for your loss. We will miss seeing Eva when we are mowing. I will never forget the day when I had to bring one of my yorkies to the Alexandria vet for a problem and we needed to also mow at Chuck and Eva's. I wasn't sure if our yorkie would be ok while we mowed but Eva came to the rescue. She stayed out on the back deck keeping our yorkie company watching us mow. Her doing that meant the world to me and I'm forever grateful that I got to know Eva for the last few years. May she rest in peace.

Prayers to the family of such a wonderfully sweet lady.  I still remember your smiling face serving me lunch and how I thought it was so cool for "Mike" (your Grandson) to have his lunch served to him by his Grammy everyday at school.
