Mary Lillian "Lil" Wiseman Lowry

Mary Lillian “Lil” Wiseman Lowry, age 88, of Johnson City, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2023. She was born in Jonesborough, Tennessee, a daughter of the late Fate Wiseman and Roberta Hensley Wiseman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Monty “Toy” Hopkins-Lowry; and one sister, Evelyn Cauble.

Lillian better known as “Lil” was retired as the property manager of Medford Properties in Memphis, TN. She was the Chairman of Civil Defense for Washington County, Tennessee, and a member of the Johnson City Auxiliary Police. Lil was a true trailblazer being the first female member of the Lebanon, Tennessee Rotary Club. She was an avid bowler, and loved playing basketball, and softball. Lil loved baseball, also enjoyed fishing and taking trips to the casino.

She is survived by three children, Renzie Lil Reed and husband Harvey, Marty Lowry and wife Karen, and Carl Mallory; five grandchildren, Lillian Michelle Reed, Harvey C. Reed, II, Rachel Melissa Lowry(Brian), Holly Newport(John), and Lindsey Hopkins; several great grandchildren; one great great-granddaughter, Aurora Reed; two brothers, Don Wiseman and wife Helene, of Germany, and Carl Wiseman; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 24, 2023 from 12:30 PM until 2:00 PM at Monte Vista Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will follow at 2:00 PM.
