Julie Ann Gentry, age 65, of Chuckey, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, December 30, 2022 at the Bristol Regional Medical Center. She was born in Limestone, Tennessee, a daughter of the late Jesse Hammer and Eala “Billie” Norton Hammer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Blaine Hammer and Kenneth Hammer; and one sister, Sue Hammer Lamb.
Julie was a member of Liberty Freewill Baptist Church where she sang in the choir, was part of the cooking ministry and was well known as being the best biscuit maker. She worked at Meco Manufacturing for over 20 years and Laughlin Hospital for 15 years. Julie loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Verlin Gentry; one daughter, Jennifer Gentry; one son, Jason Gentry; her twin sister, Judy Hammer Wilchinski; four special nephews, Tim Lamb, Jeff Lamb, Jesse Wilchinski, and Jordan Wilchinski; one special niece, Sara Lamb Barnett; father-in-law, Carson Gentry; one brother-in-law, James Gentry; three sisters-in-law, Rebecca Decker, Sheila Gentry, and Mary Lou Britton; special friend, Wanda Campbell; and several great nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
The family would like to express their thanks to the many friends, caregivers and Marty and Rhonda Hensley for all the love and care that was shown.
