Joan Allison Dearden, age 86, of Johnson City, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at Johnson City Medical Center. She was born in Johnson City, Tennessee, a daughter of the late Clarence Clifton “Brownie” and Bert Riddle Allison. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 16 years in 1982, William “Bill” Dearden; and one sister, Carol Allison Campbell.
Joan was a graduate Training School “University High” in 1951, and attended Duke University and ETSU. Over her life, she served in many hospitals as a Radiologist. She was a member of ETWNC Historical Society, and the Alliance for Continued Learning Group from ETSU. She had a love and passion for trains. She loved to travel, play rummy cube, having talks over the dinner table and dancing in the kitchen after dinner.
She is survived by her Loving Companion and Sweet Heart, Richard Koepper, of Johnson City, TN; and several cousins.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 8, 2020 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Monte Vista Funeral Home. Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 PM with Pastor Pat Locke officiating. Committal Service and Interment will follow in the Garden of the Last Supper at Monte Vista Memorial Park.
