Delores "Dolly" Loraine Smith

Delores “Dolly” Loraine Smith, age 99, of Gray, TN, passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at the Franklin Woods Community Hospital. She was born in Fullerton, North Dakota a daughter of the late Albin Vernlund and Clara Mae Hoddie Vernlund. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Gordon Stanley Smith; one daughter, Cynthia Mae Smith; and one sister, Adeline Vernlund.

Dolly was a homemaker and a member of Boones Creek Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her family, cooking and painting.

She is survived by two daughters and son-in-laws, Wanda Simpson and husband Alden and Vickie Tunnell and husband Rick; two grandchildren, Valerie Renee Moody and Scott Alden Simpson and wife Gwen; three great grandchildren, Amber Lynn Ginnings, Bryson Scott Moody, and Devyn Loren Moody; two great-great grandchildren, Blakley Ginnings and Wyatt Ginnings; and several nieces and nephews.

A Private Committal Service and Interment will be held in the Garden of Light at Monte Vista Memorial Park.

The family would like to extend their thanks to her granddaughter Valerie, the staff of Franklin Woods Community Hospital, and Family Physicians for all the love and care that was shown.
