Betty Collins Weems, age 90, of Johnson City, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2020 at Johnson City Medical Center. She was born in Washington County, Tennessee, a daughter of the late Leon and Lena Hultz Collins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Roy Weems, Sr.; one son, Larry “Bucky” Alan Weems; three brothers; and four sisters.
Betty was of the Baptist faith, and worked as a final inspector at Volunteer Blind. She loved playing bingo and scratching lottery tickets.
She is survived by two daughters, Debbie Weems, and Lena Weems; four sons, James R. Weems, Jr. and wife Nancy, Ronnie Weems, Gary Weems, and Darryl Weems; and eight grandchildren, Michael, Jamie, Lucas, Jake, Christie, Mandie, Matthew and Tyler; three great grandchildren, Enzo, Laci and Mason; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Saturday, February 1, 2020 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Monte Vista Funeral Home. Funeral Service will follow with Preacher Andy Guinn officiating. Committal Service and Interment will follow in the Garden of Word at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
