My Dearest Aunt Warrene,

Your early departure from our physical world has left me with a heartache that will never fully heal. You were an amazing woman, a loving aunt, and you're responsible for some of my fondest childhood memories.  I take solace in knowing that the ones we love are never really gone, and that this is part of Gods plan.  You will live on in my heart.  I miss you so much and I love you.

Warrene, or as you used to say, "your other mother".  Throughout the years, my camera in hand, I remember all the times you pointed at me with your finger, telling dad, "Bob, your son is at it again...He's got that Goddamn camera in his hand again..."  But in your heart I knew you were kidding and supportive of what I was doing.  You were there for my film learing experience as a boy, just as you were when I became a man.  I can still hear your voice as I would tell you about my latest film projects with hope and promise and you would say, "From your lips to God's ears."  I thank you so much for that.  

I loved all the times we played "Ace-e Duce-e" and how much fun it was.  I recall the times Marc and I got into so much trouble and you would say, "Oh your father is going to kill the both you."  But you knew.  Knew we were just being boys.  Boys you loved.  Boys that made you laugh...and cry.  

I remember the time Linda and I surprised you a few years ago and the look on your face when you walked into Marc's room and saw us sitting on his sofa.  The tears of joy running down your face.  I remember every Christmas and all the gifts.  I remeber when I introduced you to Cathy and you whispered in my ear, "She's a keeper."  I remember the late night dinners and how you would say my chicken franchise, "..is better than your father's.  I remember it all.  But most of all, I remember YOU.  I love you and will miss you dearly.

Yes, as you said, you were my "Other Mother", but it was me who was blessed to be your "son".

Dear Momma Warrene,  You were the love of my dad's life and I will treasure those memories forever!  Camelot has truly ended.  To know you was to love you and I did so very much!  You may be gone but never forgotten and each new hurricane will remind me of my first experience (I believe his name was Hugo) when you read poetry to us by candlelight.
