

Sarah Ann Carswell, a long-time resident of Jensen Beach, Florida entered into eternal life with Jesus Christ on October 12, 2022 at the age of 71. Sarah was born in Morganton, North Carolina on September 28, 1951 to Roy Lafayette and Cora Mittie (Taylor) Morgan. She was the youngest of five children.
Sarah is survived by her loving husband of over 51 years, Clyde Stevenson Carswell; three children, Lorie Shannon Harvey; Brandon Stevenson Carswell (Kyla); and Sharon Marie Arangio (Joseph); and her sister, Gladys Viola Morgan Denton (Don). Her 10 surviving grandchildren are Sarah Kathyrn Harvey, Natalee Grace Harvey, Ella Shay Carswell, Calloway Michael Carswell, Amelia Grace Carswell, Giavanna Marie Arangio, Rachel Caroline Harvey, Olivia Taylor Carswell, George Stevenson Arangio, Bryson Elisha Carswell, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins that were loved like immediate family.
Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Cora Morgan; and three siblings, Howard Leroy Morgan, Sr. (Shirley); Charles William Morgan, Sr. (Priscilla); and Donald Ray Morgan (Carol).
Sarah grew up in a small foothills town in western North Carolina named Glen Alpine and loved the Lord Jesus Christ from a very young age. She graduated from Glen Alpine High School, where she was homecoming queen and a member of the marching band on percussion. Sarah had a beautiful voice and sang in the glee club and the First Baptist choir. She was crowned Miss Morganton in 1970 and went on to participate in the prestigious Miss North Carolina pageant.
Sarah and her high-school sweetheart, Steve, lived in both Carolinas and settled in Annapolis, Maryland to raise their family. She had a full life with careers in real estate, banking, healthcare, business owner and even as a certified hot-air-balloon pilot. Sarah retired from Martin Memorial Health Systems in Florida where she worked for over a decade. Most recently, she authored the children's book series Grandma Stories, which benefits the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, caring for her grandchildren, sharing delicious home-cooked meals with loved ones, and traveling around the United
States and abroad. Sarah was a devoted mother, loving wife, and the dearest of friends to many. Sarah's faith and love will be felt for generations to come.
Sarah requested private services and a “celebration of life” memorial to be held at a later date. In lieu of gifts and flowers, contributions can be made in Sarah's memory to the following organizations:
