Richard James Johnson Sr passed away on December 11, 2023 in Port St Lucie, Florida. He was born on April 20, 1944 in Detroit, Michigan.
Richard worked for the City of Hazel Park, Michigan for 30 years as a light equipment operator for the DPW. He loved to go camping with his family and friends on weekends and vacations. Richard and his wife Christina moved to Florida in 1997 to be closer to her parents. Their children soon followed. Richard worked as custodian at First United Methodist Church of Stuart and then became a member in 2004. Richard also loved to volunteer in the Pumpkin Patch at the church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Hazel Johnson, his siblings Harold Johnson and Dorothea Wingfield.
He lives on in the hearts of his wife Christina, children, Christina Stanley and her husband George. His son Richard James Johnson Jr. His grandchildren, Annie and Tyler Steck. His nieces, Virgina, Vera and Vickie
