Michael was born on November 23, 1937 to the late Michael and Lillian (Gravina) Gangi. He grew up in Woburn MA. He graduated from Woburn High School in 1955, then graduated the apprentice program with General Electric of Lynn MA where he became a machinist for turbine engines. He retired in 1993 from GE. He worked at the family business Woburn Bowladrome through his younger years. He also worked and took over the Woburn Trophy Shop from his Dad.
He was survived by his wife of 54 years, Carol (Taylor- Siverhus). They raised a blended family of 9 children in Wilmington MA. Michele (Gangi-Bell) and David Brown of FL, Lorraine (Gangi-Rogers) and the late Val Scantlin of NC, Richard Siverhus and Deb Kobelenz of NH, the late Patricia Gangi, David Siverhus and Stacey of NH, William Gangi of FL, John Siverhus and Jill of MA, Karen (Siverhus-Doyle) and Ryan Fitzpatrick of FL, Michael Gangi and Therese of NC. He is a beloved Grandfather to many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
After retirement they moved to NH and spent the winters at Nettles Island in Jensen Beach FL and recently became a full time residents.
Michael had 5 siblings, the late Barbara and Charles(Red) Greenleaf, the late Robert Gangi, AnnMarie Kenny of FL, the Late Charles and Jean Gangi, Denise and Ken Winters of CA. He had many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and his lifetime friend Herb Griffin.
Michael spent many years volunteering with the drum and bugle corps involving his children. He enjoyed family gatherings, dancing, riding his motorcycle, camping/traveling in the RV, going to antique car or motorcycle shows. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and Sons of Italy. During his time at Nettles he was a member of the Men’s Club, Fishing Club, Green Team and rode with the motorcycle group. Michael made friends wherever he went. He will be missed by all who loved or knew him.
