Janice Carol Robitaille

Janice was born to David and Lillian ( Hutton ) McConkey, on September 26 1942, in College Point, Queens, NY. She was raised in Manchester, CT and Enfield, CT, with her sister Donna. Janice graduated from Enfield High School in 1960 and continued learning throughout her life taking courses in creative writing and art amongst others.

She married Girard (Jerry) Robitaille on June 23, 1962, and moved to Longmeadow, MA where she raised 2 sons Girard (Jerry) Jr born June, 11, 1965, and Kevin, born Jan. 24, 1967. Along with raising a family she worked and kept a home.

She saw her sons prosper in their lives, with Jerry Jr going into business with his dad and Kevin entering the military, becoming an officer in the Army and becoming a lawyer in the Army JAG Corp.

She enjoyed seeing her family grow. Kevin married Elizabeth ( Biz ) in 1992 and her Grandson Andy was born June 9, 1999. She was an avid gardener, and antiquer in her spare time, and loved to cook meals for the family to sit and enjoy dinner. In her younger days, Janice was an avid beachgoer but in later years preferred sitting by her building’s swimming pool talking to friends or reading. She enjoyed ending her day with a glass of wine, sitting with Jerry.

She closely followed the lives of nephews, nieces and their children, along with numerous friends around the country. She could always be counted on for a personal card to celebrate all of the holidays.

She retired as bookkeeper for the West Springfield Public Schools in 2002 and eventually moved full time to Jensen Beach, FL where she and Jerry enjoyed new friends and frequent visitors.

She was a wonderful wife and mother who is missed terribly. We love you Mom.
