Sorry to just hear about Jim’s passing. Jim Rowell was a class act and he helped our Martin County Electrical Apprenticeship program so much from 1985-1990 . The adult students won national awards and much of it was based on the great work that Jim did with all of the students. I spoke to him last year  and told him how much I appreciated all he did for me , the students, and the program. He will be missed.

Jimmy is such a source of joy, laughter, and consternation. 

He represents the best of all of us, and the end of a long line of unforgettable figures.

If you lived in Florida in the 1950s and 1960s, you have a sense of what a great loss it is for us to lose one more great person of his character.

He would do anything for a friend, neighbor or family member. His generosity and good humor were always what he shared most readily, and we are poorer for having lost this from Jimmy's passing.

I will never forget his teasing, and will always know that it was the gift from a fearless Floridian.  

Earleen, Susan and Jennifer have the joy of so many wonderful years with Jim, and will certainly carry on with the legacy of creative genius and sudden outbursts of laughter.

Thank you, Jim. We will always remember you with a smile. The oldest among us will remember you with a guffaw...

Soon after moving to the neighborhood in 1988, we needed an electrician. We called Jimmy because he lived nearby. We were impressed by his Southern manners and good work ethic. He always remembered us by name and was proud that Earleen painted and fired a lovely bathroom sink for us.

After my husband, Don, died and I remarried, Jimmy became friends with my new husband, Lee. They often met on the street as Jimmy rode around on his scooter and Lee walked the dog. Jimmy's interest in our family never waned. He was a charming man and we miss him.

To the family of Jimmy Rowell;  As a Realtor, I met Jimmy Rowell and called him often to  get a property ready for sale.  He was such a nice man to work with.  He was a reliable, honest and fair person.   
Whenever my family needed a good electrician, we called Jimmy first and he always came through for us.   He will be missed for his kind and southern manners and his professionalism.  Georgia O'Brien (Fowler).   

So grateful for this man and his influence in my life. He helped raise me, gave me a job, and talked me through issues. So many memories. One day, when my brothers and I were just kids, a storm came through. It might’ve been a tropical storm, I don’t know, but it had some strong wind. When it finally passed, we surveyed the damage and realized one of our favorite summer past-times, our Sunfish, was gone. We were all devastated. We loved that thing and used to take turns sailing it up and down the river every day. When Uncle Jimmy heard the news, he rented an airplane to search for it and he found it! It had been swept away by the storm and was hidden in some mangroves. God bless that man. We lost one of the good ones when we lost him. 

My sincere condolences to Jimmy's family as well as his close friends and employees. Jimmy was one of my favorite customers when I worked at City Electric Supply in Stuart. No matter what kind of a day he was having, he always greeted me with his cheerful, signature, Jimmy drawl, "Hello Van, how are you?".
He was a hard working, dedicated business man, and knew his trade well. 
Definitely one in a million, I will miss him and that wonderful greeting.
