It is with great sadness we mourn the loss of James L Bohrer. Jim was a larger than life man with a wealth of extraordinary life experiences.
Jim was born and raised in McLean, VA by his loving parents James and Gladys. He attended McLean HS and went on to BYU where he continued to play football. After graduation he attended UC-Berkeley earning a Masters degree in Civil Engineering. Jim worked in real estate development in and around the Washington, D.C area until he started his own company, Dunhill Developers. Jim was a life long hunter and fisherman who hunted and fished around the world. Jim and Hilarie were married in a hot air balloon in 1982. After that Jim got his pilot license and his own hot air balloon. They flew his balloon weekly when living in Potomac, Maryland.
He retired and moved to Stuart, FL in 2008. He loved the Stuart fishing community and was President of the Stuart Rod and Reel Club for ten years.
Jim was a loving husband. He and Hilarie celebrated their forty-first anniversary in August. He is also survived by his brother in law Tom Rooney (Susan) and his niece Rose and nephews Tommie and Tobby. He is also survived by his sister in law Alison Wolfe (Dan) and his nephew Tyler.
Jim was a one of a kind man who always learned everything about the many things that interested him. Jim will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
A funeral service for James will be held Tuesday, February 6, 2024 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at Aycock Funeral Home, 950 NE Jensen Beach Blvd, Jensen Beach, FL 34957. A committal service will occur Tuesday, February 6, 2024 from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM at Fernhill Memorial Gardens & Mausoleum, 1501 South Kanner Highway, Stuart, FL 34994. A visitation will occur Tuesday, February 6, 2024 from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM, 950 NE Jensen Beach Blvd, Jensen Beach, FL 34957.
