Bruce Tudor Stewart passed away on September 08, 2024 at the age of 75 in Stuart, Florida. He was born March 3, 1949, in Bloomington, Indiana and grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana. As a teenager he was active in the Meridian Street Methodist Church Youth Fellowship (MYF). He was an Air-traffic controller and an Illustrator in the Air Force. He then went to Ball State University, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Technology Education. Ten years later he earned his Master’s degree in Education from Indiana University. Bruce taught Industrial Arts in Indiana for many years. He retired and moved from Fort Wayne to Indianapolis where he rekindled his relationship with Jan Traphagan, a friend from the MYF group that he attended in high school.
Together, they were on the board and big supporters for the National Beep Ball Championships. (Baseball for the Blind). Besides his enthusiasm for Beep Ball, Bruce was also passionate about, painting, drawing, woodworking, and genealogy.
Unfortunately, Bruce suffered with Parkinson’s for many years and in the last couple of years was unable to live on his own. He moved into an assisted living in Florida, which helped meet his needs.
There will be a private family service in December. He will be buried beside his loving mother in Sandborn, Indiana on May 3rd, 2025.
He is survived by his brothers, William M. Stewart, and spouse Karen; David M. Stewart and spouse Janice; and his sister, Nena Stewart Barley, and spouse Kirk. He is preceded in death by his parents, Wilber Eugene and Mary Tudor Stewart, and his brother, Gregory Eugene Stewart.
