He was born October 10, 1935 in Mather, a son of the late Disidoro and Ida Mae Arnfield Virgili.
Bob was a certified electrician and mechanic in Clyde Mine, Fredericktown. He owned and operated Virgili Custom Meats until his death.
He was a member of the Greene Valley Presbyterian Church of America. He was a pitcher with the Greene Valley PCA church softball team for many years, winning two state championships. He participated in the Senior Olympics, medaling in several different categories. He was a lover of old cars and attended several local car shows where he won prizes for his 1971 Nova and 1977 Bonanza. Bob’s pride and joy was his garden and flowers, he put countless hours into creating a masterpiece each summer and shared the abundance of his harvest with family and friends.
Bob had a great love for his family and always enjoyed playing with his children and grandchildren. He was a deacon in the church and drove for the bus ministry for 17 years. He also loved cooking and shared that talent over many states helping prepare meals at CBM conferences.
On October 10, 1959 he married Judith Shultz, who survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three children, Tammy S. (Tony) Kisko, Robert J. (Kim) Virgili, Geno M. (Erin) Virgili; eight grandchildren, Nikki Richards, Jillian (Wesley) Zollars, Dottie Jones, Bobby Virgili, Ethan (Rachel) Virgili, Mia Virgili, Maria (Tyler) Empyrean, and Maximus Virgili; nine great grandchildren, Gavin Husenits, Robbie Wilson-Jones, Isaac Richards, Nicholas Richards, Kennedy Jones, Gemelia Virgili, Laramie Zollars, Greenlee Virgili, and Josiah Empyrean; a brother, John “Toby” Virgili.
Deceased are brothers, Vito, Orlando “Chick”, Franklin “Froggy”, Ernest, George, Isadore Jr. “Peppy”, and Gene Virgili; two sisters, Rose Kensek and Ida Mae Lacinak.
Friends and family will be received on Friday, June 28, 2024 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm in the Behm Funeral Home, 1477 Jefferson Rd., Jefferson, PA 15344, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at 11:00 am in the Greene Valley Presbyterian Church of America, 104 E. Greene St., Carmichaels, PA 15320, with Pastor Keith Larson officiating. Interment will follow in Greene County Memorial Park, Waynesburg, PA 15370.
