He was born March 4, 1939 in Sycamore, a son of the late Benjamin F. Hillberry and Goldie Mae Dailey Conklin.
Mr. Conklin was a retired coal miner, having worked at the former Shannopin Mine at Bobtown.
He had attended the John Hagee Ministries Church.
On June 14, 1958 he married Carol Ann Rush, who survives.
Also surviving are nine children, Donna Christine (David Michael) Teagarden of Clarksville, Kathy (Richard) Herrold of Washington, Charlotte (Toby) Zappone of Crucible, Robert J. (Karen) Conklin of Belle Vernon, Rita (Bob) McMillen of Rices Landing, Lori (Michael) Hoover of Fredericktown, Lisa (Jamie) Chambers of Crucible, Rodney (Dawn) Conklin of Crucible, Ryan (Susan) Conklin of Crucible, and an adopted son, Ray Barkley of Carmichaels; 19 grandchildren, Daniel Teagarden Jr., Christopher Teagarden, Cassie (Teagarden) Kerik, Joshua Herrold, Jessica Herrold, Jeremy Herrold, Jennifer (Zappone) Yeager and Zach Arbuckle, Jason Zappone, Kayla Conklin, Kassandra Conklin, Hailey McMillen, Michael Hoover, Adam Hoover, Jamie Chambers Jr., Alan Guesman, Karissa Conklin, Rodney Conklin Jr., Abby Conklin, and Emily Conklin; 13 great grandchildren; and a brother, John A. Conklin of Sycamore.
Deceased is a son, Rick Conklin and a sister, Marjorie Beaver.
At the request of the deceased the services and interment were private, entrusted to the Behm Funeral Homes, Inc., 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, PA 15344, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor, with the Rev. Geoff Rach officiating. Interment was in Greene County Memorial Park, Waynesburg.
