George Edward Watson, age 87, of Clarksville, Pa departed this world on Thursday, April 4, 2024, to be reunited with his parents, Samuel and Mary Noakes Watson, siblings, beloved daughter, Debra Faye and the love of his life, Connie Faye Basinger Watson.
He graduated from Jefferson Morgan High School in 1955.
Mr. Watson was a long time member of the Clarksville Eagles, the Filer-Sadlek American Legion Post 954 and UMWA Local Union 2258.
A coal miner for Emerald Coal Company added to his extensive work history, including a butcher at the Mather Company Store, a steel worker at Plasteel Corp., a truss builder and laborer for many other companies during unfortunate layoffs from the steel and coal industries. Never one to sit for too long, George was a farmer in his down time...growing vegetables that his grandchildren would load into a wagon, sharing with the neighbors of GI Town.
Known by his gravelly voice, when asked how he was, his response was always “Real Well”
He enjoyed watching WWE wrestling, football, basketball, Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, Family Feud and old time westerns.

Watson Walters and Mona Sue Lemley-Stull, grandchildren, Amanda Lee, Carrie Nicole, Travis Cody Huston, Jarod William Edward (Katarina) and Zoey Geona Mae (Jacob), step grandchildren, Nicole (Dan), Cody Allen (Kyra), a bonus granddaughter, Whitney and great grandchildren, Zane Jozef (Mylaina), Conner Derek Scott, Madison Elizabeth Faith, Callie Reese, Michael Todd, Taylor Grace, Dean Ryan Smith, Arya Ann, Hannah Marie Faye and Darien Michael Storm.
