He was born on August 25, 1946 to the late Bill and Dorothy Richter. On September 23, 1967, he married Sharon Black Richter, who survives him. He worked as a farmer and carpenter. He liked to hunt and fish and he raised deer and elk.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three children, William Shannon Richter (Natalie), Jarrod Wayne Richter (Jodi), and Shelley Richter Byers; grandchildren, Brandon Richter, Camillia Dillie, Derrick Durbin, Darian Richter, Issak Byers, Kyle Richter, and Kolten Richter; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his three siblings, Jerry Huffman, Terry Richter, and Eileen Bird.
